Patient: My name is James Burke, and this is the first dentist I've seen in 20 years because I'm terrified of dentists.
Patient: I decided to bite the bullet, so to speak, and I came in for a tremendous amount of work all at the same time — I wanted to get it all done at once. One of the things that really impressed me was how efficient they were with someone as terrified as I am. I was sitting in the lobby for 60 seconds before I was in the back, and then it was another maybe two minutes before I was under and they were working on me.
Patient: Everyone was so understanding of my particular needs — the whole staff was just wonderful. They very subtly and delicately treated me without making me feel like they were condescending or treating me like a little kid. It was all very respectful, every question gets answered, and they will really put you at ease.
Dr. Benitez: I take pride in getting these patients one very positive experience, and then slowly bringing them back up so they can sit in the chair and be able to tolerate the treatment that they've been avoiding for 20, 30 years. The second best result is when they come back in six months for a follow-up and they have no fear whatsoever, and you hear them brag about how wonderful the experience was and they're ready for the next steps.
Patient: I had no problem following it, I had no problem doing it, because I trusted these guys — and thrilled with the follow-up as well. I'm less afraid now, profoundly less afraid of this dentist than I ever have been. Dr. Benitez — you know, these people clearly know what they're doing, and I ended up coming back a second time for a follow-up. First time in my life I've been to a dentist twice.
